Free Yaser Ahmadinejad now!
As trade unionists and left-wing activists we express our solidarity with the Iranian comrade, oil worker and labour activist Yaser Ahmadinejad who has been jailed for 33 months by Iran’s rigged courts working for the clerical dictatorship.
He was accused of propagandising against the Islamic Republic, threatening behaviour and publishing lies.
Yaser, a militant worker, previously worked for the Arkan Saless drilling company that supplies contract workers to work in Iran’s oil and gas fields. He was victimised in 2024 for demanding a pay rise, and voicing the demands of workers in the oil fields.
We demand the immediate release of Yaser Ahmadinejad.
We demand an end to the persecution of Iranian labour activists and the release of all political prisoners in Iran.
